Betsy Milne is a PhD candidate in Gender and Sexuality Studies at the University College London Centre of Multidisciplinary and Intercultural Inquiry. Her research explores masculinities and young people’s perspectives on feminist discourses on sexual violence and rape culture in the UK. By studying the notable challenges to campaigns against gender-based violence, her research seeks to inform new strategies to intervene in the pervasive and persistent rape culture in UK schools. Her research interests include: masculinities, misogyny and anti-feminist backlash, sexual violence, and post-digital youth cultures. She holds a Master of Global Affairs from the University of Toronto, and a bachelor’s degree in Gender, Sexuality, Feminist and Social Justice studies from McGill University.
