Hanna taught in London secondary schools for a decade

Hanna taught in London secondary schools for a decade including in a large comprehensive school, an academy, a hospital school, a performing arts school, and a selective all girls’ school. In 2015, through an engagement with a funded research project alongside Professor Jessica Ringrose (UCL) and Professor EJ Renold (Cardiff University) on Feminism in Schools, Hanna began setting up and facilitating feminism clubs in secondary schools which prompted her PhD study Feminism in Schools: A study of young people’s engagements with feminism in six UK secondary school feminism groups. Hanna took up a Lecturer post at UCL IOE in 2019 in which she designed and leads the MA module Feminist Approaches to Knowledge and Pedagogy, teaches on the MA module What is Education? and supervises MA students through their modules and dissertations. Hanna guest lectures on the PGCE in Sociology and Psychology on Feminism and Gender Equity in Schools and works as a personal tutor on UCL’s Arts and Sciences (BASc) degree programmes.
