Idil Cambazoglu (she/her) is a PhD researcher at the Institute of Education, UCL. Her doctoral research examines elite schoolboys’ performances of masculinity online and offline in Turkey through a combination of semi-structured interviews and visual digital methods and methodologies. She is a trained sociologist actively working in the intersection of sociology of gender, education, and digital humanities with a particular focus on masculinities and masculine identities online and offline. Her research interests include hegemonic, hybrid, non-hegemonic, and new emerging masculinities, young people’s gender/sex/uality cultures online and offline and elite schools and schooling. Idil holds an MRes degree in ‘gender, politics, and sexuality’ from EHESS Paris (PSL). She is the co-convenor of the FEEL, Intersectional Feminist Research Lab at UCL with Prof. Jessica Ringrose.
